"We hired Tim Ferry III to perform at our wedding. His musical talents were a great addition to our ceremony. He was very well prepared and easy to work with. He was dedicated to perfecting the music for our ceremony, and assisted with musical decisions leading up to the wedding. I would highly recommend Tim's musical talents."
I studied piano under Dr. Botkin, and composed many pieces under the guidance of Dr. Schmitz and Dr. Schwabe at the University of Northern Iowa. I have composed many classical pieces for varying ensemble sizes including a full band piece that was read by the Symphonic band of UNI.
Software wise I have worked on Cubase, Ableton, Sibelius, Reaper, and Audacity. These different platforms assist me in composing for a variety of different audiences and their unique requests.

Hartman's Woodland Suite
In the past, I had the honor of being the Hartman Reserve's Artist in Residence. I was tasked with creating a piano suite inspired by Hartman's beautiful nature trails. I recorded myself walking the trails and custom wrote a piano part that facilitated the audio experience to the nature sounds. Further below is the 6th and final movement of the suite. From that opportunity, I was featured by the Iowa Public Radio as the September Iowa Arts Showcase

"Tim was amazing! I asked him to play the piano for my wedding and didn't have many ideas. He worked with me to figure out the perfect processional and recessional songs. He took traditional songs and made them unique. I heard from many of my guests that they enjoyed listening to him play before the wedding started. I would highly recommend him for any event!"
I began playing piano at the age of four and quickly fell in love with the instrument. By eight I began lessons. In high school I published my first CD which had a favorable response and led me to earn a career in piano and composition. I decided to become a proud panther and attended the University of Northern Iowa where I earned a degree in Bachelors of Arts in General Music Studies with an emphasis in Music Composition and Theory.
I currently reside in Cedar Falls with my beautiful wife. We are pursuing music careers individually and together under the name Hudson Road. Being a man of many hats, some of my dreams are to create music for video games, rock bands, men's choir and orchestras. Most importantly I desire to provide quality entertainment to those who seek it.
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelors of Arts in a General Music Studies with emphasis in Music Composition & Theory. I have spent the last 7 years performing in numerous weddings, funerals and parties as a solo entertainer. I have also had the opportunity to be a pianist in a band and I am currently a member of Hudson Road, a duo that can be found playing local gigs.
Apart from the live music, I have experience with composing for ensembles crossing a range of genres and styles. Such as a delicate string trio, a powerful eight person percussion ensemble, or the entrancing four mallet solo marimba piece.
